About
Set in the 1890s in the small Ukranian village of Kulyenchikov, this hilarious play follows the story of Leon Tolchinsky, a newcomer in town hired as a tutor, who discovers quite quickly that he has landed a job in a cursed town. For over two hundred years, the inhabitants of Kulyenchikov have been cursed with a terrible case of… stupidity. Once he falls in love with Sophia, the beautiful young woman he has been hired to teach, he pledges that he will break the curse over the town once and for all… and risk becoming one of the cursed himself!
An under-produced gem by one of America’s favorite playwrights, this show is sure to inflict a case of side-splitting laughter on audiences of all ages.
